Dear Friends,

The rest of the team is on schedule to be in PAP on the 12th and in Caneille on the 13th. Their focus will be to install all the radio station equipment and get the station operational. They will also be distributing self-powered hand-crank radios to the residents of the relief camp. In addition, they will be helping construct the kitchen for the camp, performing maintenance on the diesel generator, and assessing the other on-going needs of the camp: permanent latrines & showers, water needs, tent needs, school needs, and future construction plans as well as solar power systems.

We are on schedule to have a team in Haiti April 12 - 20 to distribute the 17,000 lbs of large tents between Calvary Chapel Caneille and Calvary Chapel Port-au-Prince, transport them, and erect a few, while training a few Haitians to repair & erect them also. The tents are of various sizes and quantities, from 20' x 20' up to 40' x 100'.,   Participating in this will be a team from Calvary Chapel of Old Bridge, NJ as they work with and support Calvary Chapel Port-au-Prince. Also, Calvary Chapel of Manitowoc, WI has finalized the equipment tuning for the radio station at Calvary Chapel,   Caneille. One member of our April team will be from Calvary Chapel,   Manitowoc and will be setting up the equipment and turning it on, while we also distribute the hand-crank/solar powered radios among the camp residents.

Hello Brothers,
I`m happy to report to all of you that the Lord is moving in Baja and is using this wonderful couple Alfredo and Leticia Zepeda. This past Monday we delivered   some food and study supplies to their home were they hold a weekly home bible study, this couple is very evangelistic oriented they have expressed to me that they have the desire to go were the Lord leads them and have abandoned all intentions to comeback to the States. Bro. Alfredo has expressed to me in the last 5 months the intentions of starting a church in the barrio of Otay on the east end of Tijuana on the way to Tecate and Mexicali. There are many challenges ahead but the Lord has shown his faithfulness they are currently attending a pentecostal church nearby but have also raised many questions about the theology of that particular church but nonetheless continue not to be a disruption but to wait on the Lord for their next step. This plan of starting a church has been a vision for Bro.Alfredo for the last year.   Pastor Marco has been supportive in   asst.me in prayer and making sure if Bro. Alfredo is serious about what the Lord wants for his life.

September 3rd, 2004 " “ Four years ago to this very day, the three-day Beslan hostage crisis finally came to an "end." An end to their captivity" ¦ an end to their thirst" ¦ and for more than 330 and of them " “ an end to their very lives. Shortly after 1PM on September 3rd, 2004, two explosions rocked the gym and brought on the storm by the Russian forces. As previously mentioned, there is great controversy regarding who is responsible for the initial two explosions which preceded the storm. But in having lived there in Beslan for about a year and a half, having talked with the families there, and having read several articles and lots of information regarding this issue, it appears very likely that those two explosions were not caused by the terrorists. And I would say that the vast majority in Beslan is " “ to say the least " “ highly critical of the Russian government"s actions and post-siege explanations. First off, they saw Russia"s response to the theater which was seized by Chechnyan terrorists in Moscow several years back; Russia pumped in gas so as to render the terrorists unconscious, but they wound up using deadly amounts, and most of the hostages died as a result of the gas, not from the terrorists. The following site has the official list of the hostages who died as a result of that terrorist attack; 5 people were killed by the terrorists, but 125 died as a result of the Russian Special Forces" gas!

Grace and peace to you, family! God's word is so very true when it says that The Lord's joy is our strength. As many have pointed out in the past, there is a difference between happiness and joy; joy is that which abides, and is that which we can have even in the midst of life's darkest moments because we know that our Redeemer lives. We are happy and then quickly unhappy depending on what is going on around us, but joy "“ true and abiding joy "“ comes only from The Lord. And His joy is our strength. It's the honest people in life who admit they are weak, though many like to think they possess some sort of inner strength which cannot be shaken. But for those who look at themselves honestly, we realize that we are weak indeed; but yet, the joy of The Lord is our strength. No matter what does or doesn't happen today or in the future, i can still live with true joy within; for by God's faithfulness, He has promised eternal life and forgiveness of sins to all who believe in His Son. And it doesn't stop there! He also lavishes grace upon us in this life, as well as fills our hearts with peace which no one can take away. And even more, Ephesians 2:7 says that in the ages to come, God will show the surpassing riches of His grace, in kindness toward us in The Messiah Jesus. Amazing!Read more ...

CHILDREN'S DENTAL MISSION
Moriel Children's Dental Mission in Olongapo is now underway. 49 kids and 11 more are coming. We took the severe tooth ache cases and gum disease cases first. None of these kids ever saw a dentist and the smaller ones didn't know what a dentist is. Some of the little ones didn't have a clue what was going on.

July 13, 2014 Last night we had our first Air-raid warning siren here in Nahariya as two rockets fell outside of town. This afternoon as I was finishing this bulletin there was another one. At the moment these alerts are of short duration, perhaps a minute or two. By the time we have entered into the security room, closed the armoured window plates and shut the steel door all is over. On the whole the North is relatively safe from Gaza rocket attacks at present. This is not because of any convivial sentiments by Hamas towards Israel's northern residents. Rather it arises from relatively lower numbers of longer-range rockets in the Hamas arsenal, and their preference for using Tel-Aviv for target practice. The missile technology that Hamas fires at Israeli cities is mostly of the "fire and hope for the worst" unguided type, designed for aiming at large area targets, not for individual buildings or satisfying personal grudges, which require something more sophisticated. This is not to say these things are not deadly,-they are. Fire enough of them at a populated area and eventually you will kill someone;--particularly if the area is close by and there is insufficient time for the target population to take shelter. People have been killed in Nahariya in the past and just last night a teenager in Ashkelon was seriously injured by a rocket blast. Hamas' spectacular lack of success is (humanly speaking) at least partly due to the excellent Iron Dome anti-missile system as much as to the unguided nature of their rockets;--it is certainly not due to any lack of effort on their part. Many of these (particularly the smaller) weapons are home-made (produced in workshops which Israel supplies with electricity free of charge, see below) and launched from Heath-Robinson firing platforms, hidden in schools, nurseries, hospitals and mosques or private houses, protected by human-shields and transported to site even in ambulances and even launched from bread-carts. This makes them quite difficult to eradicate. Even after this operation our national leadership know that we are only buying some months or a year or two at best of peace before we have to "take out the trash" all over again.Read more ...

Springtime in the Holy land. Well, it seemed to me that we had our share of rain this year, although they still say that the Sea of Galilee is still below the "Red Line". I think it's still early to say because all that snow that fell upon Mt. Hermon and the Golan Heights will eventually melt and run into the Sea. Nevertheless, spring is always beautiful in Israel, and for those who have visited for the first time expecting to see sand dunes and Arabs on camels were pretty surprised to see the lushness and beauty of the land; yes, even in the desert. OK, enough shmalz about Israel.Read more ...

We finally made it through the year, obviously we had some ups and downs. We learned a number of important lessons, especially concerning our friends from across the northern border and also concerning the controversy concerning the Israeli military leadership. Many believe that Prime Minister Olmart was a bit of a disappointment as well as the Defense Minister. We also thought that there would be some sort a progress concerning the Palestinians but since they're too busy killing themselves, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. It was ironic, in a sense, that the only ones the Palestinian Authority can turn to for help from the threat of hamas is Israel. And still, the cause of all the hostilities, on both the Hamas and Hezbollah front, are the three soldiers who are still in captivity. This has become a thorn in the side of all Israelis and especially those who have sons serving the military. Let's pray for a speedy release and that the soldiers return to their families safe and healthy. Read more ...

2 Corinthians 5:17 7/4/07, Wednesday: AM fellowship; saw Raiya and chatted w/ her. (Raiya lost four of her five children in the school massacre, and is an amazing woman of faith and trust in The Lord.) ‚   To God's glory, her ankle is better and she"s able to walk now (she had broken it and had to stay off it for a month or so). Hung out and talked w/ Sasha, a brother in The Lord who"s the same age as I am. He told me how he had met Vova (Khodov) a few times, who later became one of the main terrorists in the school massacre here. Sasha told me that Vova was a drug addict. " ¦Sasha and I talked about several different things, one of which was about the difference between " ˜killing" and " ˜murdering" in the Hebrew language. So far as I know, Russians use the same word for " ˜kill" as they do for " ˜murder," and The Russian Bible translates one of The 10 Commandments as saying not to " ˜kill;" some English translations translate it that way as well, but the Hebrew actually commands us not to murder. Hebrew has words for both " ˜kill" and " ˜murder," but makes a clear distinction in The 10 Commandments, which prohibit us from murdering. Not that I"m trying to say we ought to go around freely killing " “ you know what I mean! Extract what is precious from what is worthless. ‚   ‚  (Jeremiah 15:19)

5/20/07, Sunday: Went and visited Madina"s family. (Madina"s 10-year-old brother, Marat, was killed in the school massacre.) Her parents were both feeling very bad (physically), and so I mostly hung out with Madina, her little sister, and their baby brother. ‚  " ¦I"m amazed at how much Madina does for her family, how she helps in so many ways. Only to turn 17 on August 18th, Madina is already like a mom in so many ways " “ and she doesn"t sit around and complain. Later, I went with her to visit her grandma. Her grandma was really glad to see me, and insisted on feeding me, though I tried to refuse since I really wasn"t hungry. Of course, that made no difference to her grandma, and so she proceeded to prepare some food and tea. Her grandma sat and talked with me, and again poured out a lot of her heart about her pain from Marat"s death. I shared that we still pray for them and haven"t forgotten them, nor has Jesus. Before leaving, she gave me a brand new towel as a gift; I was again reminded/convicted about how these people so freely share the little that they have while I am so often so selfish and stingy. Today, choose whom you will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve The Lord. ‚   ‚   (Joshua 24:15)
6/3/07, Sunday: Went to AM fellowship. Afterwards, did lesson planning for tomorrow"s English classes. Went to visit Mairbek (who survived the attack, but lost his mom in it). We played ping pong at the park, and then hung out some at his house. Later, I visited with Madina and her family (who lost 10-year-old Marat in the massacre). The Lord gave an absolutely amazing time of sharing with Madina"s mom (Zalina), all praise be to His Name! I had prayed for an opportunity to share Jesus, and He answered. Among other things, was able to share that none of us are " ˜good," and that we all have a debt which we can"t pay. But, we can accept Jesus" payment for us. The Lord gave great opportunities to share truth and His Word, and so all the glory be to Him! I played with and helped occupy Alanchik and Alanka (Madina"s baby brother, and her little sister) while Madina studied for her very important algebra exam/final tomorrow.Read more ...

There are forces at work within the Roman Catholic Church that are tired of being nice and ecumenical. A Kenyan Pastor had a revival meeting in Eldoret. Many hundreds were saved by Gods grace and after the service a young women came and asked the Pastor a question. She said "Now how do I eat?" Until I got saved this evening I fed myself through prostitution, now I can't do that. Tell me Pastor how shall I eat?" Poverty does wicked things to people. Ciao! This month has been very busy and productive. We have recently moved house into a bigger home ready for the baby to come and nearer our church. During this time I also had a few preaching engagements and haven't really had time to settle in our new home.(The new address and phone number is below) Then shortly after I went to Rome for a weeks mission to evangelise, teach, and learn about the body of Christ there and seek God's will in calling us to Rome. Unfortunately I had to visit Rome alone as Liz is too far gone with her pregnancy to have flown with me and keep the pace of the trip. It was a very hard decision to go and even harder to leave her here and be apart especially while she is pregnant. But by God's grace she was surrounded by friends and family and we were able to keep in touch regularly.Read more ...
