Want a shock? Go to your favorite Christian website, more specifically, to the page where they sell books. Type the names of known heretics and false teachers into the site's search engine; names of authors from the church growth movement, emerging church movement, Word Faith movement and even the New Age and see what pops up on the screen for sale. Brace yourself though, because you're probably going to be surprised. Believe it or not, some Christian bookstores are even selling the published works of homosexuals, pagans and occultists! But that's not all.

Remember Peter Singer? He's that controversial fellow World Net Daily just wrote about in a September 14th article entitled: 'Bioethicist': OK to kill babies after they're born.

The WND piece begins this way:

"An internationally known Princeton 'bioethicist' and animal-rights activist says he'd kill disabled babies if it were in the 'best interests' of the family, because he sees no distinction in the child's life whether it is born or not, and the world already allows abortion."

World Net Daily went on to report that, in a recent question and answer interview where Singer was asked if he would kill a disabled baby, he replied:

"'Yes, if that was in the best interests of the baby and of the family as a whole. Many people find this shocking, yet they support a woman's right to have an abortion,' he said."

Well, if you would like to read more about Mr. Singer's family values, you can find a couple of his books for sale at AFA's American Family Resource Center. AFA is, of course, the Christian organization run by Don & Tim Wildmon that bills itself as "Promoting Traditional Family Values." Just click on the following link and when the page comes up, enter the name Peter Singer into their search engine. Hurry though, because I have a feeling Mr. Singer's work won't remain for sale there very long.

Of the two Singer books AFA offers or offered, whatever the case may be, one is on "bioethics" and the other is titled: Hegel - A Very Short Introduction.

You remember Hegel, don't you? That's Georg William Friedreich Hegel. If the name doesn't ring a bell, maybe you remember the Transformational Marxist process for which he was named: The Hegelian Dialectic.

On AFA's website, the editorial review that accompanies the book reads:

"Hegel is regarded as one of the most influential figures on modern political and intellectual development. After painting Hegel's life and times in broad strokes, Peter Singer goes on to tackle some of the more challenging aspects of Hegel's philosophy. Offering a broad discussion of Hegel's ideas and an account of his major works, Singer explains what have often been considered abstruse and obscure ideas in a clear and inviting manner."

"In a clear and inviting manner?" - Yeah, I'll bet"¦

I've written about Hegel's infamous Dialectical process and how it is rampant among today's churches in several articles over the years, one of which is an August 2000 piece entitled, Willow Creek, Hegelian Dialectic and the New World Order.

In it I wrote the following:

"The Hegelian Dialectic or 'Consensus Process' is a 200 year-old, three-step process of 'thesis, antithesis and synthesis', developed in the late 1700's by a german named Georg William Friedreich Hegel that results in what we now know as 'group-think.' It is a system Dean [Gotcher ] calls 'Praxis' that Socialists have used for centuries to seduce, seize and control mass populations without warfare. It is also in full operation here in the United States under such names as: 'Outcome Based Education', 'Goals 2000', 'Sustainable Development', 'School To Work', 'DARE' and many more. It's all about embracing 'tolerance, diversity and unity' for The New World Order. To put it in layman's terms, it's brainwashing."

Lest you mistakenly believe the Consensus Process, aka, "group think" and the "herd mentality," so popular in the church today, are biblical concepts, I would invite you to remember the words of Jesus Christ:

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." - Matthew 7:13-14

Now before you lose your cool and fire off an indignant email or letter to some editor, Webmaster or religious leader, you need to know this: Many of them don't know what they're selling. That's the good news. The bad news is, some of them do.

"And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea." - Mark 9:42

What's more, there are Christian publishers and organizations, some quite prominent, that knowingly sell the books and materials of authors whose beliefs, teachings and lifestyles they publicly claim to abhor! That means many have either compromised their convictions for the sake of pragmatism, popularity, profits and/or power or there's another more sinister agenda at work called "controlled opposition" which involves feigning a biblical faith in Christ as a means of infiltrating, influencing, undermining and corrupting the Church from within.

It is my understanding that elite foundations use their wealth to seduce, fund and control such individuals and organizations with the dialectic process where absolute truth and Divine Authority are at best, only symbolic.

Oh, today's religious leaders, organizations and their representatives that embrace, promote and practice the dialectical process put on a good show, giving polished performances, splendid speeches, syrupy sermons, and insightful interviews before adoring crowds on the importance of family values, morality, freedom, patriotism, church growth, spiritual health and blah, blah, blah; but off stage and out of the spotlight their conversations, contradictions, compromises and collaborations give them away.

Bud Press, Director of Christian Research Service, a respected researcher and consultant who "provides information, documentation, and referral on a wide variety of issues to individuals, companies, pastors, outreach ministries, and the Christian news media" recently spoke with a top representative of the Southern Baptist Convention's LifeWay Christian Resources about 14 books they had for sale on Yoga and Eastern Mysticism.

It seems after receiving several complaints from customers, LifeWay officials pulled those books from their inventory, giving Press the assurance that it was permanent. According to Lighthouse Trails Research, who also reported the removal of those books, there were others that needed to be taken away, as well. Nevertheless Mr. Press applauded LifeWay's swift action and commitment to better "monitor its cyber-shelves, and provide solid Christian materials to the body of Christ."

Other publishers and sellers have not been so cooperative.

I won't name any more names here because you can go to their websites and search engines and find out for yourself. Some of them will probably appreciate hearing from you while others may not even reply to your concerns. Still, it should be noted that by and large, Christian Bookstores, like most business, are motivated by the comments of their customers.

Bud Press has a Master List of authors that every Christian reader ought to have on hand as a reference before making any Christian book purchases online, by mail or at a walk-in store. It is published on his website and is available for reprint. At christianresearchservice.com you will also find a wealth of information on many heretical books, authors, movements, ministries and their leaders.

Before I conclude, let me add this: My purpose for writing such a troubling article is not to condemn those who are unwittingly profiting from the intellectual and spiritual poison of Christ's enemies or even those who are just careless or lazy with their inventory, websites and affiliations. It is to clearly illustrate and warn Christians and their families that we have a long-held, reoccurring, hidden and horrendous problem in the so-called "Christian Bookstore" industry; and just because businesses, ministries, organizations and their leaders have the words "Christian," "Family," "Baptist," or "Religious" in their names or on their r ƒ ©sum ƒ ©s, it does not mean all of the products they sell and distribute are biblical or even safe. Consumers can no longer make that assumption.

All that glitters is not gold, my friends! And so, it is imperative that each of us takes the time to find out just who and what we are buying, supporting and rewarding with our money before we bring their teachings into our hearts and homes because, as the scriptures repeatedly make clear, there are wolves among us.
