It was with very considerable sadness that we learned of the temporary loss of our friend & brother Max Rosenquist who was a volunteer rep for Moriel in the Chicago area. Max was seminary educated, a clever person, and a faithful servant of The Lord. Max was an early champion of the rapture being between the 6th & 7th seals who stood with Moriel in our disagreement with Pre Tribulationism. We shall miss Max until we are re-united. Max thrived on the subject of the return of Jesus and the rapture - but now he no longer needs to wait for Jesus.

We do however extend our heartfelt condolences to his dear wife Betty and to his beloved family.

Max Lee Rosenquist, 71, of Dwight passed away peacefully in his home having struggled with cancer Saturday evening September 7, 2013.

Born August 20, 1942 in Princeton, IL he was the son of the late Lawrence and Blanche (Anderson) Rosenquist.

In 1961 he went to the University of Illinois at Champaign with a NROTC Scholarship and there he became acquainted with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship which greatly impacted his understanding of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was IVCF Chapter President for two years. In 1965 Max graduated as a civil engineer and was commissioned as an Officer in the Civil Engineer Corps of the US Navy.

It was through Intervarsity that he met Betty TerMeer who became his wife on December 20, 1966.
Max served a one year tour in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant in June 1970. He served honorably in the US Naval Reserves until 1973.
He attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL and graduated with a Masters of Divinity cum laude in June 1976.

In 1972 he founded the interdenominational ministry for college and career young adults, "Seekers", at Harper Junior College in Palatine, IL. Seekers was active there for approximately 10 years and near the end of that time Seekers became an official Chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Max also served briefly as Campus Pastor & Pastor of Evangelism at Meadows Baptist Church, Rolling Meadows.

Next he worked several years for the Department of Defense at Glenview Naval Air Station. In 1988 he took a position with the Department of Energy at Argonne National Laboratory, retiring in December of 2011.

Max and the family lived in New Lenox, IL for about 25 years. He and Betty moved to Dwight, IL in 2012.

Surviving are his wife Betty and two sons, Greg (Ginger) and Dan (Taunya) of Dwight. Grandchildren are: Robin, Elisabeth, John, Tori, Becca, Angelina, William, Sophia, Jack, Xander, Josie, Aliza and Cooper. He had one niece, Stacey (David) Headley of Princeton and one nephew, Chad Hult of Wheaton, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister and brother-in-law Dianne & Mel Hult.

Visitation will be held Tuesday September 10, 2013, 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home located at 301 West Washington Street Morris, IL. On Wednesday, September 11 there will be Visitation from 9-10 AM and a Celebration of Max"s Life at 10:00 AM at Living Word Bible Church, 304 East Jackson St in Morris. Pastor Timothy Greene will officiate with a message by Pastor Bill Brown from Lexington Community Church, Lexington, IL. Military honors will be provided by the Morris Color Guard immediately following the church service. Private burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery in Princeton, IL.
