Would anyone ever have imagined that one day it would become illegal in Britain to teach children to follow precepts laid down in the Bible?

by Corrie Ten Boom
NOTE:  Miss Corrie Ten Boom was a Dutch survivor of the Nazi Concentration Camps, and a lifelong missionary. Corrie was a believer in facing tribulation. She was one of the many people who
were persecuted in concentration camps during World War II. Her family was murdered before her eyes, but though her life was threatened, God led her through that terrible time. Here is her exhortation to us from a letter she wrote in 1974:

Why is it that revivals began in the Bible with the prayers of righteous men who were innocent of the sins for which they interceded? Neither Daniel, Ezra, nor Nehemiah were guilty of committing the sins which they detailed in their prayers to God, yet they included themselves by their use of the pronouns "we" and "our". They always included themselves, never pointing the finger at "them" or "their" or "those culprits". When it comes to sin amongst God's people, the heart of the righteous includes themselves in their pleas to God on the group's behalf. I would suggest that this is the approach which is needed in order to effect a revival in the western church today. The righteous need to pray for our sin, the sins of the church, as if they're their own.Read more ...

FrontPageMagazine.com | 3/20/2008 Apologists for Obama pastor Jeremiah Wright have tried to portray him as a traditional voice for the black church in America . ‚   But the Chicago minister, who belongs to the nearly all white United Church of Christ (UCC) denomination, is far more recognizably the voice of the traditional white Religious Left than he is for the historically more conservative black church. Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, as his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).Read more ...

No doubt many of you have, like me, watched with horror, dismay and a growing sense of distaste the recent reports in the British media of the introduction of legalised "Civil Partnerships" for homosexuals. We have seen the relish with which the British press and media has reported this "momentous" event in our history. We have seen the open and shameless displays of homosexual partners celebrating their new found legal standing. We now have the spectacle freely displayed on our television screens of men kissing each other in public - make no mistake about it, the floodgates have only just begun to open! Read more ...

Way Of Salvation

In a day and age that is full of misinformation where modern-day preachers are giving "new" ways people can receive salvation or eternal life, the Bible makes it very clear the Gospel or good news of salvation is to hear it (Romans 10:14-17), to believe it (John 8:24), to repent (Acts 17:30-31), to confess it (Romans 10:9-10), and to be baptized (Acts 2:38).Read more ...
