Well, here you go. The very same videos with which Christians flooded my email celebrating the imminent Return of Christ are the very same ones being credited by non-believers as pointing to Maitreya's arrival in this article. Just in case you haven't heard, this quote from the article explains who Maitreya is: "Many now expect the return of their awaited Teacher, whether they call him the Christ, Messiah, the fifth Buddha, Krishna, Kalki Avatar or the Imam Mahdi." Bible-believing Christians who understand the times in which we live know this "Teacher" to be nothing less than the ultimate Antichrist.Read more ...

"” Ecclesiastes 3:1, 8a We seem to live at a time where the world's notion of political correctness has been embraced to a large degree even by mainstream Evangelical Christianity. Like all deception it masquerades the simple biblical truth by over-emphasizing what might be a truth in and of itself to the point that the whole thing is actually a lie. Political correctness loves to deploy the facade of "love", "tolerance", and "kindness" to an extreme where anything it deems to be encroaching on these noble attributes is evidence of an unloving, intolerable, unkind spirit. But just as we must embrace God's Word to the degree that we no longer love according to the world's definition but according to the way God defines love, so too we must understand, "There is a time to love and a time to hate" "“ not as the world defines "hate", but according to how and what we are taught to hate in alignment with God's Word.Read more ...

"But do not be called Rabbi; for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. Do not be called leaders; for One is your Leader, that is, Christ. But the greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted." (Matthew 23:8-12)

More than a year ago, a visitor to Walk with the Word noticed that one of the organizations we encourage Christians to financially support was Wycliffe Bible Translators. They wanted to know how we could support an organization which was purposely mistranslating the Scriptures for Muslim people groups so as not to offend them. Those of us directly connected to Walk with the Word not only have had tangible involvement in missions organizations, but long-time personal friends and ministry contacts at Wycliffe. Truthfully, we rejected this assertion out of hand and politely rebuked the submitter for making an accusation without providing tangible evidence to support it. To our dismay, we were then provided a host of documents and presentations which sort of politely rebuked us right back. As it turned out, not only had members of Wycliffe/SIL published mistranslated Scripture so as not to offend Muslim-centric people groups when it comes to the issue of Jesus "the Son of God" and "God the Father", but there were executives actually advertising this "advancement" as part of their recruiting presentations to enlist new translators to the ranks. Since then we have become aware of a host of websites, blogs and online forums all devoted to this issue.Read more ...

"But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase."
"“ Daniel 12:4 "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"
"“ Luke 18:8 For most people studying the book of Daniel, the emphasis would be on the visions, the miracles, and perhaps unraveling the various numbers provided which describe the timing of the unfolding of God's prophetic plan. In other words, the quest is often to determine the meaning of those things which, as of Daniel's time at least, were sealed up. But Jesus offers what at first blush is a contrast to the quest for knowledge in stating that the important character trait He will be looking for at His Second Coming is faith. (Lk. 18:8) I would offer that if we were to study the book of Daniel looking for what we as believers are to personally apply just like any other portion of Scripture, we will accomplish both goals simultaneously. In other words, the greater treasure provided in the book of Daniel is that biblical insight and understanding is promised not as a gift to a privileged few granted a superior intellect, but to anyone attaining to greater faithfulness by putting God's Word and ways into practice.Read more ...

"Not everyone who says to Me, "˜Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, "˜Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' And then I will declare to them, "˜I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'" "” Matthew 7:21"“23 (NASB)

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written by the prophet

Ebyown Childrens Village is still at an early stage. Our problems are at a foundational level, which means there is plenty to do for everyone as we see the site grow in preparation for the arrival of orphans. This means that short term missions are something we want to develop and encourage and no better way to do this is to introduce you to our first visitors from overseas, Ian and Beryl Collins from the UK.Read more ...

Exploring India

I think every one of us will remember where we were when the Tsunami struck Asia on Boxing Day 2003. I remember watching the story unfold on SKY News and the incredible death toll rising every hour for the next few days. This led to an overwhelming burden as to what we could do for the poor souls who had survived? Especially the Christian brothers and sisters who in many of the lands affected would find themselves back of the aid queue because of their faith. It was my friend Martin Lloyd who pointed out to me that a ministry in Southern India who"s people had suffered greatly in the Tsunami was in need of assistance and with that Moriel supporters across the world dug deep to lend assistance. We would like to introduce you to Ebyowns new child Sibusiso or Sibi for short. We picked him up today and already hes feeling at home. Sibi has CP and cannot talk. He manages to get around quite well on his zimmer frame, in fact too well, we had to coax him down from the climbing frame . Sibi is now on ARV's and we hope that with love and a home he will begin to develop. I must confess I was watching him get ready and he was tying is own shoe laces, very slowely, very patiently with hands that could barely bend. I thought my word, how long has it taken him to learn this skill that we all take for granted? I have to admit I admire the little chap, hes been in hospital 9 months, basically left there by family but thank the Lord through your support "God places the solitary in families" Psalm 68. Please continue in your support, we now need to buy Sibi new clothes etc, maybe you can help?

Dear Beloved
Attached is a photo of Carlos. He's 4 years old and pictured here with his mum. His mum Themba is going into hospital to die of HIV/AIDS. She wanted to take him and settle him in a place where he would be loved and nurtured in Christ as she herself is a believer. As you can imagine parting company was traumatic. Please pray for this little one and if the Lord burdens your heart to help in some way then do not hesitate to contact us.

A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows is God in His holy habitation. God places the solitary in families and gives the desolate a home in which to dwell. (Psalm 68:5,6a) (Amplified)

I felt led to write this small article as an encouragement to those involved in church planting or who partner Moriel in our planting program. In this fallen world we live in its easy to get side tracked and focused on the opposition we receive from the world, the flesh and the devil and we fail to step back occasionally and recognise the joy that new believers receive at their Baptism. yes Yeshua is still in the business of drawing souls to Himself through the leading of the Holy Spirit and it was with real joy and a time of celebration that 6 people from Moriel came through the waters of Baptism and it was a privilege to assist Ps Bernard Mathe in our small pool. One of the people baptised ‚  was Yvonne one of our elderly missionaries who was sprinkled as baby but at 70 now recognises the need to be obedient to our Saviour. Jesus said 'If you love me you obey my commandments', Baptism was a step of real obedience for these people. Read more ...

In labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day have I been in the deep; 26 in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 28 Besides those things that are without, there is that which presseth upon me daily, anxiety for all the churches (2 Cor11 ASB)

1For everything there is a season, and a time for very purpose under heaven: 2a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

When Psalm 68:5-6 says that "God sets the lonely in families" the Hebrew word used for families is Beyith, it not only speaks of the obvious family group but also extended family, clan and in some cases even the temple of God. There is a lot I could say about our trip to Uganda, but to get a picture of what went on there I will try and present the good, the bad and the ugly. Not that this is a criticism of Uganda or Ugandan people, it is however a picture that you will find in most East Africa or third world countries. A picture of tyrants, victims, heroic deeds, heroes and a system that seems impossible to break unless Jesus comes quickly.Read more ...

New Child at EBYOWN

Dear Friends

Today the 5th of November, Ebyown took delivery and had installed the new Generator donated by Moriel supporters from the USA. The Generator will enable the whole site to have power during the frequent black outs experienced during thunder storms and whenever the decrepit South African electric system breaks down. We at Ebyown would like to thank those involved with the installation and provision of this valuable piece of equipment. May the Lord Bless you.

Please can I introduce you to our latest members of the Royle Family.

Dear Sir/Madam

When Jerusalem fell to the Greco-Syrian tyrant Antiochus Epiphanes it fell twice. The first time was a gradual assimilation into the Greek culture that was first introduced by Alexander the Great and whose precepts were inherited by his military successors throughout the remnant of that once great yet brief empire. The vision that Alexander had was to see the whole world transformed by a single language and culture; this in turn was the thrust of this madman cum megalomaniac whose political and military pressure turned the rulers of Jerusalem's religious class upon themselves. The new Greek thought in the form of Hellenism was pitted against the traditions of Rabbinic Judaism and the new usurped the old with the result being the political and cultural domination of Greco-Syria.Read more ...
